BOA

Studying life can be tough. Biologists are often submerged in books, articles, or lecture notes. When you’ve had enough of being an “indoors biologist”, the Biology Outdoor Association is there for you! Biologists explore their surroundings searching for the coolest aspects of life on earth, as you probably became a biologist because of that: birdwatching on the Wadden islands, fishing in canals or the North Sea or cutting animals open to see their insides on one of our anatomy evenings, the BOA offers all this, and more!
The members of this committee can be recognised by their Indiana Jones-style adventure hats, saving them from many heat strokes in the vast outdoors they roam. When going on an adventure with the BOA, prepare yourself for excitement and adventure, and enjoying a cold beverage afterwards together. Roaming the vast wilderness of the island Schiermonnikoog, spying on mating deer in the Veluwe area, catching moths at night, fishing in canals, the sea and even the cooling system of a power plant, and a campfire competition are just some of the many activities we organised the past years.
Would you like to join these activities? Keep an eye on the Biologica calendar. Would you like to help us organise these adventures? Contact us at boa.biologica@wur.nl and ask us for more info.

Cheers!
